Job Title: Food Service Assistant
Location: Speke, Liverpool
Contract: Permanent – Full Time 35 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 7:00am to 2:00pm
Rate of Pay: £12.71 per hour

About the role

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and customer-focused Food Service Assistant to join our catering team at Elanco AH in Speke.

You’ll play an important part in delivering a high-quality food service, helping with food preparation, serving customers and ensuring the kitchen and service areas are kept clean, safe and well organised.

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working as part of a team and providing excellent customer service in a busy catering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and presentation of food for the restaurant, hospitality and special functions.
• Serve meals and beverages to customers during service.
• Provide a friendly, professional and efficient service.
• Operate tills accurately and handle customer transactions securely.
• Keep kitchen, counter, storage and service areas clean and tidy.
• Operate the dishwasher and support the smooth flow of clean crockery and equipment.
• Help maintain vending machines, including cleanliness and stock levels.
• Complete required food temperature and wastage records.
• Follow all food hygiene, Health & Safety, COSHH and site procedures.

You’ll be someone who takes pride in delivering a great service and works well with both customers and colleagues.

Ideally, you will have:

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience working in a busy catering or food service environment.
• Experience of cash handling and operating tills.
• The ability to work independently when required.
• A positive approach to teamwork.
• A good understanding of the importance of food hygiene, cleanliness and Health & Safety.
